Manage Templates

This is used by system administrators to create and register new templates with Savvy CM.  See the template guide for additional information about registering templates the first time.

When in the template management screen you see a dropdown list of template files that are not currently in use by Savvy CM. If no files show up in the list, your includes.cfm is not configured correctly.  Double check your basepath settings.

Select a template and give it an appropriate name. If that template should be in a specific sub directory structure, specify that. Note that you can leave the default directory blank for your first test.

After registering a template you need to specify who has rights to that template before you can start adding pages. After the template has been registered you need to assign what users have rights to create pages for it.  Add your 'admin' user account.

Now you are ready to create pages using that template.  We recommend using a test page name and NOT index.cfm when testing.  You can at some point overwrite the index.cfm file of Savvy to place your home page of your web site, but it is best to have the template tested fully before doing so.
