Savvy 4.5 Features
Version 4.5 Upgrades and New Features
Here is the list of items that made our 4.5 beta release. The beta software has been released to members of our Partner program for evaluation and is now being used for client demonstrations. The planned release date is January 31, 2008.
Revised Navigation Features
Our Savvy Navigation object has received a complete makeover and its administration is now fully drag and drop. Add an item and drag it where you want it in the navigation order. You can also move entire sections at once. It will save you time and we think you'll love it.
New User Administration Tools
Most of these items are here by popular demand. We now allow you to:
- Password-protect content. We now allow multiple classes of users that do not have traditional Savvy privileges. This will allow users registered with the site to see content that may be restricted for anonymous users or defined groups. This will allow fast creation of password-protected pages and content on your site.
- Expand Group privileges from site-wide to templates and pages. This will allow assigning permissions at a more detailed level for groups and users.
- Permanently delete a user. Rather than having disabled users showing, you will be able to delete users. Any transactions a user created prior to deletion will still be identified.
New Object Controls and Types
- Publish All Pending Content. This feature will allow you to make substantial changes throughout your site and publish all pending content with a single click.
- Cancel Publishing. If someone starts to make changes to a content object and realizes it's the wrong object, the Cancel Publication will restore the content and remove the pending publication notice.
- Permanently Delete a Page. Pages can now be active, disabled or deleted.
- Move a Page. If you've ever created a page only to realize you've put it in the wrong directory, this feature will warm your heart.
- Log-in object. Embed the Login/Logout functions into any Savvy template.
- Content object without editor. Some content such as Google analytics and Javascript won't play nicely with the Savvy editor. This will allow you to have a content object for these items.
- Google sitemap. Dynamically generate an xml file for Google sitemap.
New Reports
- Scheduled Publication report. Quickly see all content scheduled for future publication.
- Scheduled Expiration report. Quickly see all content scheduled for future expiration.
- Missing Alt Tag report. This report will provide a list of all images used in content areas that do not have an alt tag associated. This is to assist in Section 508 compliance.
